That is the main reason for undertaking an analysis of Blaga\u2019s philosophical heritage, which could testify for the today\u2019s impact of a philosophical approach, as well as for its keeping synchronous with the similar contemporary European projects. This paper aims at drawing attention to the contributions made by pre-1989 research to the better understanding of Blaga\u2019s philosophy, as well as to the merits of the efforts made in the past quarter of a century in order to shed light on the intricacies of his discourse. The goal of the paper is also to invite a more detailed assessment of Blaga\u2019s philosophical heritage, in view of its alliances established with literature and theology, as well as in view of the metaphorical language in which the philosopher had his metaphysical works articulated. We do not discuss each factor, or their relation, but only those that we believe are responsible for this Romanian horizon of creation, and which could be invoked in the view of identifying some generic characters. If we take into account the formative aspiration (or <em>nisus formativus<\/em>, according to Blaga\u2019s context), for the Romanian traditional terminology there should be analyzed in this sense the <em>phenomenal<\/em> mode possibly the <em>typifying<\/em> one. In the following paper, I aim to point out and debate several outstanding anticipations of this shift that occurred in Blaga\u2019s historico-philosophical works published in the first half of the 20th century. Essentially, this is about the thesis that the stylistic patterns of historical cultures determine the requirements of description and explanation of nature that distinguish great research traditions one from the other. The importance and topicality of Blaga\u2019s considerations is outlined by comparison with those of some remarkable figures of the new philosophy of science: Al. Koyr\u00e9, St. Toulmin, and Th. Our study starts from the hypothesis that the analogy is a natural form of human thought. For this reason the Romanian philosopher Lucian Blaga believes that we need a metaphysical foundation of the analogy. This theory is labelled by St\u0103niloae as \u201epoetical Kantianism\u201d. My main statement in this paper is to argue that St\u0103niloae and Blaga share different paradigms regarding the relation between scientific and religious knowledge. St\u0103niloae argued that the two types of knowledge are in a hierarchical order, with the religious knowledge in the top because it assures the access to the totality of existence. According to the author, Blaga\u2019s metaphysical thoughts transcend the history of metaphysics and are part of a new way of thinking, the \u201cdogmatic\u201d way, which brings the philosophical quarrels concerning metaphysics to an end. We consider that Blaga introduced this concept for reasons that appeal both to the inherent need of the system he created and to its natural development manner, trilogy by trilogy, which was sometimes eluded by the exegesis. Also, our statement is that, despite some indisputable hermeneutic progress, the analytical-Kantian origin critics auto-forbids the sufficient incorporation of the \u201dmetaphysical wisdom\u201d of the transcenddent censorship, especially from the perspective of the \u201dmaximal methodological expansion\u201d, on which Blaga insists in his metaphysics of knowledge. The \u201eluciferian\u201d character of the concept of non-being gives negation a qualitative meaning, not an existential one, making it define the differences between the absolute and the factic, on one hand, and between various categories on the other. Blaga\u2019s dispute over phenomenology. Blaga\u2019s<br>debate is analyzed in line with the conflictual perspective in which the phenomenological viewpoint and metaphysical constructs are incompatible. Blaga\u2019s thinking could be associated with the metaphysical condition of \u2018philosophical system\u2019, while for phenomenology it is \u2018experience\u2019 that prevails. I have reached the conclusion that Petre Botezatu\u2019s initial concern was with epistemology, especially with the \u201eturn\u201d taken by the philosophy of physics after the revolutionary discoveries from the laboratories where the chemical elements were investigated in their intimate structures. Also, the passing of the philosophical category to an intercultural context, and the returning of the latter to its first function are themes in this paper.
