V. Socec\u016d, o <em>Cresto\u00adma\u021bie<\/em> cu \u201ebuc\u0103\u021bi alese din autori germani\u201d<a href=\"#_edn1\" id=\"_ednref1\">[1]<\/a>, \u00een care se g\u0103se\u0219te tradus \u0219i primul apendice din lucrarea lui Immanuel Kant <em>Spre pacea etern\u0103<\/em> \u2013 \u201e\u00dcber die Misshelligkeit zwischen der Moral und der Politik, in Absicht auf den ewigen Frieden\u201d: \u201eDisensiunea dintre moral\u0103 \u0219i politic\u0103 cu privire la pacea etern\u0103\u201d (386\u2013397) .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Printre textele cuprinse \u00een volum sunt: \u201eSpicuiri din Fr. Nietzsche\u201d (337\u2013349),&nbsp; traduse de C. R\u0103dulescu-Motru \u0219i traducerile filosofice ale lui Titu Maiorescu, preluate din <em>Convorbiri literare<\/em>: Schopenhauer, \u201eDespre istorie\u201d (504\u2013513) \u0219i \u201eDespre geniu\u201d (Din <em>Lumea ca voin\u021b\u0103 \u0219i reprezentare<\/em>) (559\u2013567), precum \u0219i Emil du Bois-Reymond, \u201eDespre limitele cunoa\u0219terii naturii\u201d (532\u2013542).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prezen\u021ba acestor fragmente celebre i-a f\u0103cut pe unii cititori\/cercet\u0103tori s\u0103 atribuie volumul lui Maiorescu, fie ca alc\u0103tuitor, fie ca traduc\u0103tor<a href=\"#_edn2\" id=\"_ednref2\">[2]<\/a>. Stilul \u00eens\u0103 nu-i apar\u021bine. Pentru a m\u0103 asigura c\u0103 nu e un volum \u00eengrijit de Maiorescu, i-am r\u0103sfoit <em>Jurnalul<\/em> din anii 1901\u20131902.<a href=\"#_edn3\" id=\"_ednref3\">[3]<\/a> Nu apare nic\u0103ieri consemnat\u0103 munca la aceast\u0103 crestoma\u021bie. \u00cen acei ani Maiorescu a f\u0103cut corectura la a patra edi\u021bie a traducerii <em>Aforismelor<\/em> lui Schopenhauer \u0219i a preg\u0103tit pentru tipar cel de-al treilea volum din <em>Discursuri parlamentare<\/em>, care aveau s\u0103 apar\u0103, la aceea\u0219i editur\u0103, \u00een anii 1902, respectiv 1904.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Majoritatea exemplarelor existente ale <em>Crestoma\u021biei<\/em> nu au men\u021bionat autorul sau tra\u00addu\u00adc\u0103torul, ceea ce a l\u0103sat loc la interpret\u0103ri. Dar exist\u0103 un exemplar, la Biblioteca Aca\u00adde\u00admiei, men\u021bionat \u0219i \u00een BRM, pe care e identificat traduc\u0103torul: Mihail Canianu \/M.&nbsp;Cahana\/ (1867\u20131933)<a href=\"#_edn4\" id=\"_ednref4\">[4]<\/a>, un publicist, de origine evreiasc\u0103, n\u0103scut \u00een H\u00e2rl\u0103u. La sf\u00e2r\u0219i\u00adtul antologiei este inclus\u0103 o traducere din Spinoza. Antologatorul \u0219i traduc\u0103torul \u00ee\u0219i expli\u00adc\u0103 alegerea astfel: \u201eDe\u0219i Spinoza nu apar\u021bine literaturii germane \u2013 el nu apar\u021bine exclusiv niciunei literaturi, \u2013 dar pentru c\u0103 scrierile lui au fasonat \u00een mare parte cugetarea german\u0103, imprim\u00e2nd o direc\u021biune puternic\u0103 \u00een spirite, credem necesar a introduce \u00een lucrarea noas\u00adtr\u0103 \u0219i un capitol din operele acestui mare scriitor.\/ Lessing, care a supt \u0219i s-a \u00eent\u0103rit din lap\u00adtele Spinozismului, zice c\u0103: \u00abE numai o singur\u0103 filosofie, filosofia lui Spinoza\u00bb.\/ Despre puternica influen\u021b\u0103 ce scrierile lui Spinoza au exercitat asupra lui Goethe, se vede din opera poetului: <em>Adev\u0103r \u0219i poesie<\/em>. Spinoza a fost geniul filosofic al lui Goethe. C\u0103r\u00adbu\u00adnele filosofiei lui Spinoza s-a cristalizat \u00een diamante poetice la Goethe, \u2013 zice undeva Heine\u201d.<a href=\"#_edn5\" id=\"_ednref5\">[5]<\/a> Pentru crestoma\u021bie a fost ales ultimul capitol din <em>Tratatul teologico-politic<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Publicistul Mihail Canianu a fost c\u00e2tva timp colaborator la ziarul <em>Rom\u00e2nul<\/em>\u0219i cu\u00adnos\u00adcut mai ales ca autor al volumului <em>Poezii populare. Doine. Culese \u0219i publicat \u00eentoc\u00admai cum se zic <\/em>(Ia\u0219i, 1888)<a href=\"#_edn6\" id=\"_ednref6\">[6]<\/a>, a c\u0103rui apari\u021bie a fost semnalat\u0103 de Ioan Bianu (<em>Revista nou\u0103<\/em>), I. N\u0103dejde (<em>Contemporanul<\/em>), Ioan Russu (<em>Familia<\/em>), A. D. Xenopol (<em>Arhiva<\/em>, IV, 7\u20138, 1893: 433\u2013434). A fost \u0219i traduc\u0103tor al volumului <em>Minciunile conven\u021bionale ale civi\u00adli\u00adza\u021biunii noastre<\/em> (1895), de Max Nordau.A realizat \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Aurel Candrea (A. Hecht) <em>Dic\u00ad\u021bio\u00adnar geografic al jude\u021belui Dolj <\/em>(1896) \u0219i <em>Putna<\/em> (1897). Cu aceste infor\u00adma\u021bii, numele lui este men\u021bionat \u00een tomul I din <em>Enciclopedia Rom\u00e2n\u0103<\/em>, publicat\u0103 din \u00eens\u0103r\u00adcinarea \u0219i sub auspiciile Asocia\u021biunii pentru Literatura Rom\u00e2n\u0103 \u0219i Cultura Poporului Rom\u00e2n, de C. Dia\u00adco\u00adnovich, \u00een anul 1898.<a href=\"#_edn7\" id=\"_ednref7\">[7]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen acela\u0219i an, Elena Sevastos publica un volum \u2013 <em>Limba rom\u00een\u0103 \u0219i autorii evrei <\/em>(1898) \u2013 \u00een care culegerea lui Canianu era pur \u0219i simplu desfiin\u021bat\u0103, f\u0103c\u00e2nd caz de ori\u00adgi\u00adnea evreiasc\u0103 a autorului<a href=\"#_edn8\" id=\"_ednref8\">[8]<\/a>: \u201eAcest domn e cu des\u0103v\u00e2r\u0219ire necunosc\u0103tor de obiceiu\u00adrile, de credin\u021bele, de toate tainele vie\u021bii \u021b\u0103ranului \u0219i mai presus dec\u00e2t toate fiind cu alte senti\u00admente, cu alte idei \u0219i deprinderi cu totul opuse poporului, pune \u00een socoteala popo\u00adru\u00adlui ideile, sim\u021birile, obiceiurile \u0219i deprinderile&nbsp; sale, ceea ce constituie necinste pentru \u021b\u0103ra\u00adnul rom\u00e2n. Cu inten\u021biuni vr\u0103jma\u0219e, nu cru\u021b\u0103 nimic pentru a huli, a \u00eenjosi \u0219i necinsti acest popor, pentru a se trezi deodat\u0103 autor \u00een Bucure\u0219ti ca omida pe un copac. [&#8230;] Dac\u0103 am avut ceva sf\u00e2nt \u00een \u021bara aceasta, au fost numai obiceiurile \u0219i credin\u021bele popo\u00adru\u00adlui, care ca ni\u0219te taine \u00eentr-un altar, s-au p\u0103strat \u00een s\u00e2nul poporului, \u0219i ast\u0103zi vine un Canianu de ni le p\u00e2ng\u0103re\u0219te!\/ Cei ce au urechi, s\u0103 aud\u0103; cei ce au ochi s\u0103 vad\u0103 \u0219i s\u0103 \u00een\u021be\u00adleag\u0103; \u0219i precum se smulg buruienile din straturile de flori, precum se izgone\u0219te lepro\u00adsul \u0219i tot infectatul dintre oamenii s\u0103n\u0103to\u0219i, astfel s\u0103 se izgoneasc\u0103 acest M. Cania\u00adnu de la studiile poporului rom\u00e2n\u201d<a href=\"#_edn9\" id=\"_ednref9\">[9]<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Totu\u0219i, Mihail Canianu a fost apreciat ca folclorist, o serie de balade, c\u00e2ntece \u0219i strig\u0103turi culese de el fiind incorporate \u00een colec\u021bia lui Grigore G. Tocilescu, <em>Materialuri folkloristice<\/em> (Bucure\u0219ti, 1900). A colaborat \u0219i la alc\u0103tuirea monumentalei colec\u021bii de proverbe a lui Iuliu Zanne, <em>Proverbele rom\u00e2nilor<\/em>, vol. I\u2013VII (1895\u20131901). \u00cen volumul <em>Metoda de cercetare a folclorului<\/em> (1969), Ovidiu B\u00eerlea apreciaz\u0103 notarea formei auten\u00adtice \u00een culegerile lui, spun\u00e2nd c\u0103 a fost primul care a utilizat semnele diacritice<a href=\"#_edn10\" id=\"_ednref10\">[10]<\/a>, iar \u00een <em>Istoria folcloristicii rom\u00e2ne\u0219ti<\/em> (1974) sunt remarcate cele dou\u0103 studii \u201emonografice\u201d ale lui Canianu, publicate sub titlul \u201eDin psichologia poporan\u0103. Desc\u00e2ntece, farmece, vr\u0103ji: Deochiul \u0219i Faptul\u201d, \u00een <em>Revista de Istorie, Archeologie \u0219i Filologie<\/em> (VII\/1893, pp. 115\u2013191), \u00een care recunoa\u0219te \u00eenr\u00e2urirea puternic\u0103 a lui Hasdeu.<a href=\"#_edn11\" id=\"_ednref11\">[11]<\/a> \u00cen articolul pe care i-l dedic\u0103 \u00een <em>Dic\u021bionarul etnologilor rom\u00e2ni<\/em> (2006), Iordan Datcu spune c\u0103 \u201eautodidactul Canianu este primul culeg\u0103tor din istoria folcloristicii rom\u00e2ne\u0219ti care demonstreaz\u0103 c\u0103 are o concep\u021bie \u0219tiin\u021bific\u0103 asupra literaturii populare, at\u00e2t sub raportul modalit\u0103\u021bilor de cule\u00adgere \u0219i tip\u0103rire, c\u00e2t \u0219i al celor de interpretare\u201d.<a href=\"#_edn12\" id=\"_ednref12\">[12]<\/a> O reeditare a operei sale folcloristice a ap\u0103rut \u00een volumul<em>: <\/em>Mihail Canianu, <em>Studii \u0219i culegeri de folclor rom\u00e2nesc<\/em>, edi\u021bie \u00eengrijit\u0103 de Al. Dobre \u0219i Mihail M. Robea (1999).<a href=\"#_edn13\" id=\"_ednref13\">[13]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mihail Canianu apare ca autor al <em>Crestoma\u021biei<\/em> \u00een <em>Dic\u021bionarul literaturii rom\u00e2ne de la origini p\u00een\u0103 la 1900<\/em> (Bucure\u0219ti, Editura Academiei, 1979, pp. 140\u2013141)<strong>. <\/strong>Articolul este reluat (tot sub egida Academiei Rom\u00e2ne) \u00een <em>Dic\u021bionarul general al literaturii rom\u00e2ne<\/em> (Bucure\u0219ti, Editura Univers Enciclopedic, 2004, pp. 34\u201335).Aici este prezentat ca folclorist, traduc\u0103tor \u0219i publicist, care \u0219i-a \u00eenceput instruc\u021bia \u00een ora\u0219ul H\u00e2rl\u0103u \u0219i \u0219i-a des\u0103v\u00e2r\u0219it-o la Ia\u0219i, unde pare s\u0103 fi urmat cursurile gimnaziale \u0219i ale unei facult\u0103\u021bi, deve\u00adnind \u00een cele din urm\u0103 profesor. P\u0103c\u0103\u0163ian); Carmen Sylva, \u201eDin cuget\u0103rile unei regine\u201d (500\u2013503).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Profilul de folclorist al autorului crestoma\u021biei este ilustrat de c\u00e2teva \u201especimene\u201d de proverbe germane, mai \u00eent\u00e2i traduse <em>ad literam<\/em> \u0219i f\u0103r\u0103 a se da echivalentul lor cu locu\u021biuni proverbiale rom\u00e2ne\u0219ti, pentru a \u201egusta \u0219i cunoa\u0219te psihologia poporului german \u00een toat\u0103 frumuse\u021bea lui\u201d (180\u2013190), \u0219i apoi c\u00e2teva \u201eexpresiuni proverbiale germane, \u00een traducere rom\u00e2neasc\u0103, <em>ad literam<\/em>, precum \u0219i echivalentul lor \u00een rom\u00e2ne\u0219te\u201d (382\u2013385).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traducerea lui Mihail Canianu din Kant, cu titlul \u201eDisensiunea dintre moral\u0103 \u0219i politic\u0103 cu privire la pacea etern\u0103\u201d este una printre celelalte traduceri \u0219i trebuie luat\u0103 ca atare, f\u0103r\u0103 preten\u021bia unei abord\u0103ri critice a textului, put\u00e2nd fi eventual prefa\u021bat\u0103 de nota biografic\u0103 din sec\u021biunea final\u0103 a volumului:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201e<strong>Kant,<\/strong> Immanuel, s-a n\u0103scut la K\u00f6nigsberg, \u00een anul 1724, aprilie, \u00een 22. Era fiul unui curelar (\u0219elar) \u0219i al patrulea fiu din 11 copii. Bunicul s\u0103u era de origine sco\u021bian\u0103. Studie pe r\u00e2nd teologia, matematicele \u0219i filosofia. Dup\u0103 ce a terminat studiile, intr\u0103 ca profesor la diferi\u021bi particulari, pentru a se putea \u00eentre\u021bine. \u00cen 1770 fu numit profesor titular, catedr\u0103 ce o ocup\u0103 p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1797.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una din vie\u021bile cele mai curate, cinstite \u0219i probe, Kant, a muncit toat\u0103 via\u021ba \u0219i n-a tr\u0103it dec\u00e2t pentru \u0219i prin studiile filosofice. Via\u021ba lui Kant e \u00een cea mai perfect\u0103 concor\u00addan\u021b\u0103 \u00eentre conduita \u0219i doctrina lui. Din toate \u0219i-a f\u0103cut c\u00e2te o maxim\u0103, pe care le urma punctual, f\u0103r\u0103 nicii o afectare.
